About the Book

Sober Spring

Sober Spring tells the story of a family’s struggle with the pain and uncertainties of alcoholism and also the hope and joy of recovery. The book tells the story of what can happen when the members of the family, sometimes even starting with the youngest members, are willing to confront the truth in spite of fear. Also included in the book are guidelines for how recovery can happen within the family with articles from Rob Castillo, Kimberly Groll, Frank Salvatini, and Rob Bollendorf.

Sober Spring is the first title in the Sober Spring series.

The Sober Spring series is the story of a family in Wisconsin struggling with an alcoholic father. All seven of the stories in the series involve the Brandt family and continues through their growth and development as a family and as individuals. As so often happens in recovery people become less egocentric and more concerned about helping others. The series combines the reality of recovery with vivid characters and subplots – allowing the reader to experience the dysfunction of addiction through entertaining and page-turning books. With the Sober Spring series, Bollendorf showcases his approach to recovery by Fighting Addiction with Fiction.
